From Spirits to Stories
Built in 1896 for the James Williams Wine and Spirit Company, the Bonded Stores were once filled with barrels of whisky, brandy, rum and port.
This was where the drinks were blended and bottled. Local stories say the fumes were so strong that workers sometimes went home feeling as though they had already sampled the stock!
Today, the building has a very different atmosphere. The Bonded Stores are now home to Narberth Museum, where visitors can discover the stories of the town through local collections and interactive exhibits.
And while the scent of rum and brandy has long since disappeared, there is still something tempting in the air; these days it is more likely to be the smell of fresh coffee and cake from the museum coffee shop.
